According to the architects, the contemporary residence was designed using passive solar principles and hydronic heating. It also features double-glazed windows throughout, as well as recycled Australian hardwood.
The first-floor living areas open onto a wide deck, while the second floor is connected to a rooftop terrace. Another terrace features a private garden with ocean views.
While functionality was a key factor of the design, several cozy additions tailor the home to fit the inhabitants. The house is made for socializing; the living room has two sofas facing each other, while the dining table seats up to 10 people.
