lavender margarita glasses-2

It’s Thursday which means we’ve almost made it through the week. That in itself deserves a cocktail I think. I’m typically a wine lover, but when the sun comes out I can’t resist a cocktail or two. As I’m getting older my drink tastes have developed and my cocktail choices have become more adventurous. Instead of ordering something which is pretty standard from the menu I now look for the twist. I want that combination of flavours I haven’t tried together before. At the moment I can’t resist anything which includes my current taste obsession – lavender.

This refreshing recipe for Lavender Margaritas is the perfect combination of flavour, sweetness and citrus to keep you cool in this hot weather. I promised you I would be making something with our beautifully potted lavender plants a while ago. And you can’t get more exciting than a margarita. Mix up those sharp, summer flavours with the sweet lavender twist for a total crowd pleaser at your next garden party.

I’m sharing the recipe along with the tutorial for these hand painted glasses over at Altos Tequila. Their field notes include an array of gorgeous cocktails and delicious food recipes so make sure you take a look around while you’re over there.
