And so my love of Perler beads continues. These colourful tiny beads are such a fun blast from the past. As a kid I used to make things with them all the time but until recently they were something I hadn’t used in years. Thankfully they seem as popular as ever and you can buy them in most craft and toy stores.

1. Start by arranging your beads on the pegboard to make your unicorn design. To make the rainbow you’ll need to use a circle shaped pegboard.
2. Lay your parchment paper on top of your design and gently iron over the top in a circular motion. You’ll be able to see the beads start to melt and fuse together.
3. Leave to cool a little before peeling away your parchment paper. If you peel it away too soon the beads can stick to the paper.
I find it’s easier to remove the design from the pegboard while it’s still warm and pliable. To stop it curling up place a heavy book on top as it cools.
4. Use a glue gun and stick a brooch pin to the back.
