I grew up in Trinidad with a stunning female hub. My family. I lived with my mom, aunt and grandmother who have and will forever influence my life. Not to mention my aunts and countless female cousins. We were a formidable group when we gathered together every weekend to just be around each other. When I saw these Girl Power images I had to create something with them. These DIY Girl Power Notecards are a small tribute to the ladies in my life – past and present. International Women’s Day is just a few weeks away. Why not grab these images (which are only free this week!) and make some for your family and friends too?

DIY Girl Power Notecards – Instructions
Open your girl power images (.png) in Silhouette Studio – I used the portrait images
Create a square and fill with color
Resize your girl power image and place it in the middle of the square
Create another square that is bigger than the one you made in step 2 – this will be the white frame or border around your notecard. Make sure the lines of the square will be visible when you print by changing the Line Thickness
Center your squares
Repeat for each notecard
Cut out your notecards
If you want to crop your girl power image before putting in the square, create a square around your image and place it where you want to crop. Select both the square and the image, then go to Object > Modify > Crop
This fun stationery project will take you about 20-30 minutes, depending on the number of notecards you create. If you are doing a lot and own a Silhouette cutting machine (I own the CAMEO 3), use the Print and Cut feature to save time. Let me know how your DIY Girl Power Notecards turn out!
