If you were to ask me a year ago what my favourite season was I’d have definitely said Summer – warm long days, what’s not to like. However a shift is happening and I’ve fallen a little bit in love with Autumn. Pockets of golden light through jewel coloured leaves, making crumble (some might say too much), visits to pumpkin patches and sunflower fields, slow Sundays, an increased amount of leopard print, new boots…the list goes on.
One of my favourite things to do is give my house a little refresh, mantle pieces and cupboard tops have become display areas for seasonal treasures. Mixing the last of the garden flowers with fairy lights has made my mantle feel fresh in the day and cosy at night. I’ve been continuing to declutter and give my home a spruce before the excitement of Christmas descends. I hurt my back a week ago so I’ve had some forced down time where I’ve been planning projects and giving my brain a chance to catch up.

As I just haven’t had the time or ability to do any new DIY projects lately I thought I’d share some of my autumn favourites from the past few years.

My sister & I are having a Halloween party for our little ones tomorrow , I’ve been adding pumpkins to the dining room and we’re beyond excited to make flowers crowns (mainly for ourselves!) and to dress up as cats! I’ll be adding some autumn to my table and using this flower crown tutorial as a refresher.

With the clocks changing its time to switch the jars I normally use for flowers to candle making jars. I’ll be making a bunch of these soy candles (plus a few extra for gifts)

I’m plotting my winter gift wrapping but still love this white and metallic version from a while back.

I might do a little more dying fabric with flowers before my garden finishes, I’m going to use the ribbon for Christmas wrapping.

Finally, darker days mean more sparkle. Whilst I’m trying to work out a post baby style that doesn’t focus on leggings (urgh!) a jazzy necklace like this brooch and rope one is a good distraction from my tired mama eyes!
