Living a heart-healthy life is important for adults and children alike, and to remind people, February is the official American Heart Month! Here’s how you can help:

The American Heart Association and The Children’s Heart Foundation are partnering up to celebrate American Heart Month by helping moms live a heart-healthy life – not just for themselves, but for their newborns, too! The goal of “Little Hats, Big Hearts” is to “raise awareness, provide resources and inspire moms to take their family’s heart health to heart while also raising awareness about Congenital Heart Defects”.

To help, people from across America are knitting and crocheting red hats for babies born in February. They can be given to participating hospitals and will then be passed on to the new moms. Yarn or money donations are also gratefully accepted. You can get more info and learn how to send in the hats you make here.
