We’re celebrating DEDON’s return to Australian shores exclusively with Cosh Living, by exploring how luxurious craftsmanship and innovation continue to define their world-class collections.

Founded over 25 years ago, DEDON has established itself as a global leader in hand-craftsmanship and woven design. Working in close collaboration with creative leaders, it’s become a true pioneer of resort-style furniture. So, it comes as little surprise to us that the original Australian specialists in outdoor living – Cosh Living – have now included DEDON within their exclusive range of brands.

DEDON are what we’d call a trailblazer in outdoor furniture. They were the first to weave a synthetic, weatherproof fibre into luxury outdoor designs and to become a globally-recognised outdoor living brand. Represented in more than 80 countries on six continents, they remain the only outdoor furniture brand that owns and controls its fibre and hand-woven furniture production.

Not only have DEDON earned their reputation from creating high-end, long-lasting woven furniture, but through working closely with the world’s leading designers – both household names and emerging talents. This reputable list of collaborators includes GamFratesi, Phillippe Stark, Edward Berber, Jay Osgerby and Maison Objet Designer of the Year 2019 Sebastian Herkner.

DEDON are big believers in enjoying unforgettable moments together outdoors. So much so that DEDON traverses the planet to see how other people live well outdoors. If you see a dreamy image of an ocean outlook with DEDON in the fore, it’s guaranteed they’ve been there. In fact, their ‘Tour du Monde’ kicked off back in 2010 in Kenya’s Rift Valley and took DEDON most recently to the fishing village of Sayulita, Mexico. This is what we call embracing a global spirit of outdoor living.

Recently returning to Australia to find an exclusive home at Cosh Living, it seems the outdoor living experts were written in the stars. Cosh Living has been working alongside Australian architectural and interior design studios for the past decade, defined by their showcase of high-quality materials, craftsmanship and technique. Sharing a respect for innovation in a global design space, both DEDON and Cosh Living are obsessed with quality – be it in materials, craftsmanship and service.

Director Colin Kupke said it was a natural fit, because DEDON is both complementary and very different to the other brands they represent, offering a broader range of products. “You could not dispute that DEDON is probably more widely know than any other outdoor brand in the world,” Colin said. “It cuts through to the architectural and design community here because of the quality of its designs.”

“DEDON are very particular with what they present. It’s got to be high quality, the best of materials and a highly original design. That’s very much in keeping with what we showcase.”

Last month DEDON wowed crowds with their exhibit at Milan’s Salone del Mobile 2019. Designed by Danish-Italian designers GamFratesi and styled by Celine Parmentier, DEDON showcased under the theme of ‘Laboratory’. The booth was designed as an elaboration of the ‘farmhouse’ concept, creating a ‘place to study nature, get inspired and create’.

More locally, DEDON will be one of four first-class brands represented by Cosh Living at DENFAIR Melbourne. Colin said their expansive stand is not to be missed, designed by Justin Hutchinson.
