I’m getting addicted to making crochet blankets because I enjoy so much throughout the making process. Furthermore, working with these bright colors is so relaxing that I never want it to end. Having said that, it’s pretty nice to end up with a beautiful cosy blanket at the end of the journey.
I only used traditional granny squares (only three rounds squares) joined as you go in this crochet blanket. Simple but very effective when you’re going to work with a huge amount of different yarn colors. This simplicity makes it a very enjoyable project: no pattern reading is need!
The blanket grows satisfyingly quick, and the simple mix of colors creates a glorious chessboard surface.
To finish it off, I used a very thin Japanese inspired edge, minimal, because nothing should disturb the color composition in the blanket.
But I was also considering other options. Here are some of them, and you can find many more samples on my
The colors were combined in a random way as I was working on the blanket. I had to pull cunning to get the composition ended up being fairly balanced and natty to see, considering all the colors I used and the added difficulty of having different amounts of each of them.
As you can see, a very enjoyable project, especially suited to the colder months of the year when you can cosy up and enjoy the snugly warmth of the blanket on your lap as you work. I’ve seen many samples of this same blanket on the net and I wished to make one for me since so long.
Many things have happened during the last seasonal holidays and my large break in the network, as you can suppose. Here I wish to share a little of how it was our last seasonal holidays familiar trip. Actually it was a last minute planned trip looking for the sun and relax for a few day, so we took our bags and plane tickets and there we went. We enjoyed a stunning seasonal weather, unusually warm and sunny, glorious blue skies and bright sunshine made for getting out there and making the most of them.

Now we are fully installed again in winter season and going through all things it brings: rain, wind, snow and cold. Well, as it should be for life and nature to be renewed. There should not be much reason for complaints indeed, since there is no better weather for us to crochet, don’t you think so? ?
