Coogee House II By Madeleine Blanchfield Architects

The new house with an open concept is on the edge of a dense beach but still requires privacy management and smart views. Designed by Madeleine Blanchfield architects, Coogee House II is built for young families, must be strong, habitable and filled with light but with layers of space that provide flexibility, separation and privacy.

The house has an internal courtyard, a perforated screen that can be operated, high space and muted material used to create a sense of openness and lightness on sites that are long, narrow, steep and very neglected. Adhering to a short design but able to withstand a solid, simple and brave house, with architectural features that are able to withstand some imperfections that actually become the main attraction of this beach house. Even the structure of the building is deliberately made rough to put brick and stone.
