Colorful Tropical Themed Brooklyn Wedding

This wedding is perhaps one of the most unusual that I have ever seen. Why? First of all, it took place in winter thought its theme was tropical. Second, the bride had the most unique look I have ever seen, and it was so non-traditional that I just dropped my jaw.

The cold weather outside didn’t stop Kathryn and Jeff opting for a sunny, colorful wedding when they married in February. The big day was held at Greenpoint Loft in Brooklyn. All they wanted to have was colors that show them as personalities and great food that they both love.

The bride designed and made her own dress with help from her mum. The fabric they used was from Liberty of London. It was a bold floral dress with short sleeves and a pleated skirt and a pair of matching leather shoes that of reminded oriental slippers. She also had her mustard coat on while outside. The groom was wearing a blue printed suit with a crazy patchwork shirt and pink socks.

The space was designed by a friend of the family and the florals were created by the bride and her mom, so they saved much money on that. The venue was an old cozy barn filled with lights. There was no bridal party, and it was again a budget-savvy solution.

The wedding cake was ball-shaped with bold edible flowers and some butterflies to highlight the wedding theme – it was destroyed by the couple for fun. There was also an assortment of cheesecakes and pies served for everyone.
