Artful ideas for all things washroom. Bathing, beautifying and beyond — self-care has never looked so good.
Little treasure
This hidden gem of a powder room is a haven of understated elegance. Jewel- toned tiles combine with refined details, the mirror, tapware, basin and vanity striking a delicate balance. High-quality materials such as brass make every touchpoint a luxe experience and you can rarely go wrong with green — its ties to nature mean it doesn’t feel out of place in a home that favours neutrals.

Breathing room
Maximise a small space with minimalist décor that gives you room to move. Keep the look tidy with a wall-hung mirror neatly aligned with a columnar pedestal basin; a freestanding mixer rising up from the floor continues the linear appeal. All you need now is built-in storage and a ledge for display.

Contemporary bathrooms can often be shiny, slippery customers, but layered textures aren’t just for living areas — in fact, their subtle introduction in a washroom can make a big statement. Here we’ve taken the rough with the smooth while combining straight lines with curves.
Freestanding baths are great and all that, but lately their built-in counterparts have been catching our eye. We love the way their boxy effect creates spatial interest, allowing their surrounds to shine. Thinkof your drop-in tub as an architectural element that invites the use of solid surface materials such as travertine, marble or tiles.
