A boutique beach hotel that is as equally appealing to those with kids as without, Casa Cook Chania draws on the Greek notion of “parea” (roughly translating as a group of friends who gather to share philosophies, values and ideas). Located in Chania, in the northwest corner of Crete, Casa Cook Chania offers laidback luxury with interior design by Berlin’s Lambs and Lions, and architecture by Greece’s own, K-studio. Only a hop away from Chania’s old town, with its Venetian, Egyptian and Ottoman influences, Casa Cook Chania successfully merges minimalist mid-century modernism with sustainable design to make for a perfect getaway on a pristine stretch of Cretan coast and provides the perfect place to feel inspired.
Following the success of the first two award-winning Casa Cook Hotels in Rhodes and Kos, Casa Cook Chania opened its doors in May 2019 as the latest boutique hotel under the Thomas Cook umbrella. The hotel’s 106 spacious rooms have an earthy and organic feel, featuring concrete floors, natural timbers, and bespoke furniture made largely in Indonesia.
Each of the 106 rooms comes with its own private terrace and natural rain shower. The Junior Suites and Superior Family Rooms have an additional living area, as well as a garden and plunge pool, shared with only one neighbour for added privacy. The larger Suites, Family Villas and Presidential Villas boast more spacious indoor and outdoor areas, including a garden with a private infinity pool – making them perfect for families or a group of friends.
The Beach Club, the heart of Casa Cook Chania, comprises an indoor/outdoor restaurant, bar and pool area. Renowned DJs spin summer beats, while you enjoy a local and seasonal Mediterranean inspired menu, with local Cretan flavours, and Cretan-inspired cocktails.
Creative genius Remo Masala, Group Creative Director of Thomas Cook, and Tobias Gaertner, Head of Casa Cook Brand Development led the Casa Cook Chania project together with Berlin based design agency Lambs and Lions, for the architectural concept and interior design. Collaborating also with Berlin-based Interior Stylist , with whom the Casa Cook group have worked on numerous hospitality and residential projects, and Athens based architectural team K-Studio, led by Konstantinos and Dimitris Karampatakis.
As their first-family friendly hotel, Casa Cook Chania has launched an innovative kids space – a mini beach club, private pool area, and a tailored program of creative classes including cooking classes, painting workshops and a sleepover experience in a tepee. A paradisal space.
