Candy Land Summer Jumper pattern by Two of Wands

After months of mostly worsted weight knitting projects, I have been dying to work on a quick crochet project. And although summer weather calls for lightweight knits, this usually means skinny yarn, tiny stitches, and endless hours of labor. So when I set out to design this new pattern, I was motivated to figure out something that could be cool enough for warmer temperatures but still work up super fast. I knew as soon as I got my hands on Lion Brand’s new Flikka yarn that this would be the perfect yarn to use – it was destiny!

I chose the “Keepsake” colorway, which has a natural toned neutral base and tiny flicks of light blue, lavender, and pink. The combo is a lovely spring palette and instantly reminded me of swirly lollipops and summer sweets. And thus the Candy Land Summer Sweater was born! I seriously imagined this exact silhouette, and I’m so happy that my original vision came together so perfectly. With long, wide sleeves that can easily be rolled up, a cropped body, and chunky doubled yarn that’s crocheted super loose, this boxy sweater is the perfect addition to a shady spring afternoon or post-beach cocktails. And best of all it’s a simple pattern that works up in less than a weekend! The front and back are worked as one piece without any side shaping, so it really does whip up before your eyes.

The Candy Land Summer Jumper is so easy to throw on and looks great with cut-offs, long pants, a high waisted skirt, or topping a babydoll dress. I have so many outfits planned for this guy I know I will be sporting it all summer long.
