Buffalo Chicken Strips Recipe

Football Season is upon us! Today we’re sharing a recipe that’s perfect for any game day party! Spicy Buffalo Strips! These are made in the oven so you can premake them and just pop them in the oven right before your party! We love serving them with milk to cut the spiciness. (Rule number one when you eat spicy food: water doesn’t help much, go for the milk!)

Add a platter of these next to the usual Game Day spread and even if your team loses at least every at home already won. Go TEAM!

Buffalo Chicken Tenders

4-6 tablespoons vegetable (or another neutral) oil
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 large egg
1/3 cup hot wing sauce (I love Frank’s)
2 cups panko bread crumbs
1 1/2 pounds chicken breast tenders

Line two large baking sheets with aluminum foil and brush 2 tablespoons of oil on each pan. Depending on the size of your pans you might need more but the goal is to have a nice thin layer of oil on the baking sheet. I used an 11×17″ and used 2 1/2 tablespoons per baking sheet to accomplish this.Place the pans in the oven and start preheating it to 425* F. Heating up the oil is going to give us a nice crispy exterior.Set up your prep station by using 3 pie dishes or cake tins and mixing the flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder in one, the egg and hot sauce in another, and the panko to the third dish. Now we dredge, using two hands so it’s less of a crazy mess. Use a designated dry hand to roll a chicken tender in the flour, then dip it in the egg and hot sauce using the other hand then place it in the panko dish and use the dry hand to toss some panko on top and press down to make sure it adheres. Flip it over and repeat if necessary. Place on a plate and continue with the rest of the chicken tenders.

Once everybody’s ready open the oven and carefully place the chicken tenders on the hot oiled baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes, then flip over and bake for an additional 10 minutes. Serve warm with additional hot sauce or blue cheese dressing, celery sticks, and a cold glass of milk. Got milk?
