Book-Inspired Greenhouse Wedding In Melbourne

Ella and Michael’s wedding is the wedding of plant lovers’ dreams and it took place in a plant nursery in Melbourne, and though the heat was 42°C, everyone had fun!

The wedding was simple, green and nerdy in the most breathtaking way. The couple had decided early on that they wanted a big dinner party with food and drink as their focus. The couple chose the caterer first and only then chose a venue according to what was available for the caterer. The plant nursery had a great advantage as it provided an atmosphere already. The stylist added some greenery and blooms to the venue but not too many. There was a literary theme running throughout the day too: some books scattered amongst the foliage in the reception space. Library catalogue cards were used as place cards, with the card catalogue acting as a table plan for guests to find their place and then take their seat.

The bride was wearing a modern plain wedding dress with a fit and flare silhouette, thick straps and a plunging neckline and a gorgeous ombre blue veil with gold stars. The wedding shoes were black velvet ones with gold stars, too. The groom was rocking a grey suit with a black tie and burgundy shoes. And without being super clickbaity, you’ll never guess what her bridesmaids wore – getting ready robes! These were black lace maxi ones.

The wedding cake was an ombre teal one with gold touches and a bright blooms on top.
