Today I’m featuring two NZ design projects that recently won Gold Pins at the Best Awards in the Spatial Design category. I’ve been in total admiration of both projects this year so I’m very happy to share these incredible spaces and the talented designers who created them.

Wellington flagship store Kowtow is a beautiful extension of the ethical clothing brand that had previously been solely online for 11 years. The transition to a physical space that reflected their strong brand values was beautifully realised by Knight Associates. I love the Japanese inspired architecture and joinery, which includes slatted timber panels and oversized paper lamps produced by Japanese company Ozeki & Co

Warm minimalism that is both sustainable and beautifully executed, this for me is a dream combination.

This next project by Hare Interiors is a central Auckland apartment with magnificent views of the harbour. A calm retreat away from the bustle of Ponsonby Rd, it features exquisite detailing with a beautifully curated balance of materials and bespoke details. A subtle palette complimented with textural stones including limestone and caramel onyx is paired with bold forms, while an incredible custom brass screen draws on traditional Art Deco forms to divide the study from the living areas.
