Your soccer field should be determined by the number of goals you intend to have. That is what should help you know what size your soccer field will be. You do not necessarily need to have a fence because this may limit you in terms of space. However, you can have something that could prevent your ball hitting your neighbour’s house or breaking their windows. Ensure the soccer field is the right width.

Before you do any field markings or install any goals on your backyard, check whether the ground is level. If you notice any areas that need filling as you walk on that ground, you can fill it up. Also ensure that there are no knots on your grass that would cause serious injuries to your children as they play.

Add the goals

Since you had already checked on the size of your backyard before the goal installation, you can now have them depending on the numbers that will fit. If you have a large backyard, you may consider having goals made of heavy metal while light weight goals would be preferable for a small backyard. The soccer field in your backyard is meant for practice or just little play for your children. One goal may be enough. However, a bigger backyard can contain two goals top ensure that your children have a great time at soccer.

If you realize that the soil in your backyard is too soft, you may want to take an alternative than proceed to have the soccer field. You can purchase artificial grass which you can just plant on the soil. This is an alternative to show that you can still have your backyard soccer field regardless of the kind of soil. The artificial grass will save on the energy you would have otherwise used to ensure that the playing surface is even.
