Anna Wintour Just Broke One of Her Main Outfit Rules
While trends come and go there’s one thing I’m certain about in fashion: Anna Wintour is never seen without these two items on her—her phone and her sunglasses. Before you start mentioning her love of nude sandals, she does actually change these to boots sometimes so you can strike them from the list. The editor-in-chief of Vogue and artistic director of Condé Nast always remains loyal to her personal style, and if you’re a fan you’ll notice that she rarely carries one thing: a bag. Wintour might be holding her sunglasses in her hand, when they’re not on her face, and will have her mobile in the other but rarely a bag. That’s not to say that she never wears one but she is rarely pictured carrying them (she has people for that, of course), and especially not when she has a red carpet event. However, yesterday, at the memorial for Karl Lagerfeld, she wore a classic silver bag from Chanel.
The event for Lagerfeld took place in Paris and was attended by various A-listers, including the likes of Helen Mirren who performed at the event. While Wintour wore her, now trademark, Manolo Blahnik sandals, she also had on a Chanel dress to honour the late designer, along with the bag. The editor is often spotted without a bag, however, so clearly it had to be a pretty special event for it to make an appearance.
