We were blown away by the huge influencer push Dior did for the return of its logo-stamped saddle bag for autumn, and it’s left us seriously craving the much-loved saddle silhouette. Dior wasn’t alone either as many of our favourite power brands are reinventing the saddle — Chloe introduced the Tess, Loewe bought us the Gate and Wandler had the new Luna. Instagram has basically gone wild for this practical classic, with every influencer we can think of owning a version of this shoulder bag.

The classic equestrian-style shape consists of a rounded bottom with a top flap that comes over the top of the bag. Typically a shoulder or crossbody in this style is of a good size meaning we finally have a bag trend we can wear everyday and fill with all our prized possessions (a.k.a – clutter). Many brands such a Chloe & Other Stories are going all out horsey with buckle fastenings and hardware, which make the perfect finishing touches.

Croc-effect textures are also having a serious moment right now, and it looks amazing when it’s applied to a saddle bag as seen at Topshop, Mango and CHYLAK. Take a scroll to see how influencers are wearing their saddle bags for this season, and shop our edit of the best around.

Style Notes: The Dior saddle may just be the best comeback there ever was this year, and there’s no denying we want it in every colour. This little saddle bag will be such an investment you may find yourself handing down for years to come.
Style Notes: This trend is a great opportunity to bring back the classics like Lucy has with her traditional Burberry check saddle bag.
Style Notes: When a bag is as great as the Chloe Tess there’s no need to over think the rest of your look —and Lizzie proves that going back to basics is super chic.
Style Notes: The Wandler Luna has been a real hit with the Scandi-set, as it’s a great minimal accessory that can neutralise any fashion-forward look, such as this snake print jacket.
This bag is giving us real equestrian vibes with the chunky horse-bridal clasps.
Keep it minimal with this A.P.C style and you’ll find this bag will go with pretty much everything in your wardrobe.
This mushroom colour will look so great with a tonal look.
The knot detail on this saddle bag make it look super expensive. At £79 it’s a total steal.
The hardest decision will be choosing which colourway to take it in.
This is a super chic new brand we’re obsessing over right now — and when you see their low designer price point you will be too.
Oh boy! Our favourite comeback of the year  — the Dior Saddle.
We’re kind of croc-obsessed at Who What Wear HQ so this minimal saddle bag is a firm favourite this season.
After test-driving this in the office we’re adding it to our wishlist. It’s up there with practicality due to its size.
Another firm favourite with the street-style set — this bag has been up there with this season’s must haves. At last a practical bag that we’re really into.
Roksanda has just proved that saddle bags also totally work for the evening with this playful number.
This croc-effect bag is so great it could almost pass for designer it’s so great. At £25 it’d be rude not to grab.
Brown and black is a great colour combo and looks super chic together. With the added detail of a chunky gold chain this will work for day or night.
Simplicity is often the golden ticket; and Mango proves why.
If you’re willing to splurge, you’ll certainly want to consider this Prada number. What dreams are made of.

Our new season wishlist doesn’t stop there. To see what other new-in pieces you need to buy this week then read on…
