When it comes to my personal style, I’m a neutral and earth tones gal through and through, but Daniela Schinke of Wunderblumen gave me the courage to paint one of my walls a faint blush earlier this year. And most recently, I repainted it a peachy clay hue, which I find energizing, comforting and unnerving all at once (I know you color-lovers might be rolling your eyes at me — it’s still quite tame, but trust me, it was a big step!). Knowing me, I might end up painting it back to white someday, but it goes to show you that Daniela’s style is so appealing that it can convince even someone like me to play around with color. She manages to mix up a variety of pastels in her home and still end up with a sophisticated look that doesn’t feel saccharine or overwhelming.

Daniela — a teacher, stylist, photographer, and mother of three in Kassel, Germany describes her home as “colorful without being flowery, pastel without being girly, Scandinavian without being clean–a mix of old and new.” I think it’s a perfect description for her warm and charming home!

cheers, ezz.
