With just a few days left, I’m sharing a few easy projects that you can make as Mother’s Day gifts using recyclables! These vary from veryyy easy to a bit more involved so they would work for kids of all ages! As with the last few craft round ups, I’ve included a video tutorial below and then a mini tutorial for each project written out below that!
Cardboard Wall Hanging
- cardboard
- scissors
- paint
- paint brush
- waxed string
- embroidery needle
- hot glue gun
Cut out shapes using template. Mark out places where you will need to make holes. Use embroidery needle to create holes at each mark. Cut pieces of string and thread through holes and glue in place. Use command strips to hang on wall.
Egg Carton Flower Bouquet
- egg carton
- scissors
- paint
- paint brush
- wire
- hot glue gun
Cut apart pieces of the egg carton. Form into desired shapes. Paint. Create circle on the end of wire and hot glue it to the base of the flowers. Arrange into a bouquet and wrap into paper of put it in a vase!
Cardboard Rainbow Stand
- cardboard
- scissors
- toilet paper roll
- x-acto knife
- paint
- paint brushes
- cotton balls
- hot glue gun
Cut out rainbow shape using template. Cut toilet paper roll in half and use x-acto knife to cut two slits in top of each piece. Paint as desired. Glue cotton balls to toilet paper rolls. Slide rainbow down into cloud pieces.
Cardboard Mother’s Day Card & Stand
- cardboard
- toilet paper roll
- scissors
- x-acto knife
- paint
- paintbrush
- picture
- glue
- pen
Cut out card from cardboard and cut a toilet paper roll in half. Use x-acto knife to cut slits in the top of the toilet paper roll. Paint as desired. Glue a photo of kids/grandkids on it. Write a message. Slide it into its stand!
Plaster Vases
- old bottles/jars
- spray primer
- plaster of paris
- paint brush
- sand paper
- paint
Spray bottles with primer and let dry. Mis plaster as directed and put a light coat all over. Let dry then add coats as desired. Once they have all dried, sand down to desired finish. Paint and let dry. Fill with flowers and greens!
