You don’t have to have super long locks to rock some cute braided hairstyles. In fact, you can have all kind of hair because braids can be worn in large variety of ways. And we’re divulging some of our favorites.
Types of Braids
Over the centuries, humanity has invented a ton of ways to braid hair. All these braiding techniques have their own names and you’ve probably seen most of them, but didn’t know they had a specific name.
The techniques vary depending on the area of the world you’re in, and they also vary depending on the type of hair one has. Curly hair will braid differently to straight hair, for instance. Also, certain braiding styles are more suitable for particular updos, and so on. It’s all quite complex and beautiful at the same time.
Here are a few types of braids you could try:
- French Braids
- Dutch Braids
- Fishtail Braid
- Plait Braids
- Rope Braid
- Lace Braid
- Lattice Braid
- Ladder Braid
- Single Braids
- Multiple Braids
- Crochet Braids
Most of these are super difficult to make on your own hair, at least not without a ton of practice, so you better start trying them out on your friends.
