12 Awesome Vintage Photos That Show Men At Work Before AutoCAD.
It’s beyond any doubt that technological innovations have always made life better for mankind. And when there is a technological innovation in an industry it leads to multiple benefits, cost cuttings, time reduction, increased efficiency, error reduction, reduced cost of training and lot more. We have seen that robots are able to perform not only industrial works but also much more sophisticated jobs too. And now we see rise of Artificial intelligence (AI) in business and our daily lives. Since its launch, AutoCAD has come a long way, from being a desktop app that used to run on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers to present mobile and web app – AutoCAD 360. But before this, draftsmen made drawings; so did really their desk become smaller? Every coin has two sides and so does every story. What really happens when one knows a particular job and has been doing it for years and suddenly loses it due to upgradation? Most drafters were said to be hourly employees just a step above a blue-collar worker with basic education, a 2 year AA degree from a community college. And then engineering tech became draftsmen; these degreed engineers played the role of CAD designers, engineers, detailers, data managers, and more. And the “Draftsmen” were allowed to disappear through attrition. Hopefully AI isn’t into blogging yet, or else we too will be without a job. Just a thought!
